In-Session Phishing
There has been a recent rise in the number of in-session
phishing incidents. In-session phishing is a sophisticated
means of obtaining your personal data. The attackers target
websites such as bank websites and cause a pop-up to appear while
you are on the site asking you to confirm or update you details.
Banks sites do not use pop-ups to obtain updates to your data and
all attempts to do so should be assumed are in-session phishing
attacks.
If you are in any doubt or you feel you have been a victim of such
an attack then phone your bank and inform them.
It can be triggered by malware on your computer that can detect that
you have logged into a certain website. Use Malwarebytes or
other such software to remove any potential risks.
